About me

MAI is a bilingual voiceover talent fluent in English and Japanese whose voice is featured in countless national TV commercials and promos, internet ads, movie trailers, explainers, sound logos, e-learning projects, and character voices for TV dramas, games, and anime.  She is the WINNER of the SOVAS Voice Arts Awards 2023 Outstanding Commercial TV or Web Best Japanese Voiceover and has also been nominated for other prestigious awards including the Voice Arts Awards 2023 Outstanding Corporate Narration Best Japanese Voiceover and the One Voice Awards USA 2022 Best International Voiceover Performance. 

MAI is extremely versatile with her voice. She can sound “conversational and real” “confident and charismatic” “soft and soothing” at ease, and she has created many happy clients in Japan and overseas. MAI is also constantly up-to-date with the current voiceover trends, and her background as a copywriter at Dentsu Advertising Agency will help you explore what voice and wording attract the Japanese market. 

Some of MAI’s most widely known works are TV promos for the FOX/Disney channel, commercials for Shiseido, Panasonic, and Toyota Lexus, a corporate sound logo for Docomo, and internet videos for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.  MAI’s voice is also often heard in movie theaters for the trailers she reads.

MAI started her voice career after winning the American Top 40 DJ Contest and made her global debut in Hollywood as a radio personality.  After working in the marketing and creative departments at Dentsu,  she became a full-time voiceover talent. Since then, MAI has been a part of countless projects for multiple media and has served many global clients such as Disney, Google, Amazon, Netflix, Spotify, NHK, and JAL.
